Calculator

Peptide Reconstitution Calculator

Use this simple calculator to work out how much BAC water to add to your peptide vial for research preparation.

Your Peptide Vial

Auto-fills from your concentration choice — adjust if needed.

For a vial, adding of BAC water creates a concentration of mg per mL ( mcg per mL).

1mg = units on a U-100 insulin syringe

500mcg = units on a U-100 insulin syringe

250mcg = units on a U-100 insulin syringe

Syringe unit calculations are based on standard U-100 insulin syringes.

Syringe Dosage Calculator

U-100 insulin syringes are measured in units. Standard syringes are measured in millilitres (mL). Select the syringe type that matches the markings on your syringe.

Select the number of units you plan to draw based on your own research protocol. This calculator does not recommend dosage.

  • Peptides are supplied as lyophilised (freeze-dried) powder in sealed vials.
  • Reconstitution is the process of dissolving this powder using a suitable solvent — most commonly bacteriostatic water (BAC water).
  • Always work in a clean environment to minimise contamination risk.
  • Wipe the tops of all vials with a fresh alcohol swab before inserting a needle.
  • If your peptide has been refrigerated, allow it to reach room temperature before reconstituting.
  • Draw up the required volume of BAC water into your syringe, then slowly inject it down the inside wall of the vial — do not aim directly at the powder.
  • Never shake the vial vigorously. This can damage the peptide structure.
  • Gently swirl or roll the vial between your palms until the powder is fully dissolved.
  • Once reconstituted, store your peptide refrigerated at 2–8°C and away from heat, light and contamination.
  • Always label your vials with the reconstitution date so you can track usage and shelf life.
